Coating filtration membranes with copper oxide nanoparticles could help improve the treatment of digestate from biogas production. Tests showed that coated membranes allowed liquid to pass through more easily, requiring less pressure to maintain flow. Their permeability improved by around 19–21%, although reductions in clogging were modest and within experimental uncertainty. The approach offers a promising way to improve filtration performance in systems that combine anaerobic digestion with membrane treatment.
